As of early 2013, we are still in the process of rebooting unto the new platform

If you want to keep track of the relaunch you can:

  1. Like us on Facebook
  2. Follow us on Twitter
  3. Send me (Kris) an e-mail and let me know that you'd like to join the new site when it is ready.

Once we are ready to relaunch, we will start spreading the word. Until then, expect silence to mean we are heads down coding. :) The forum is still open for active members, but don't expect a lot of activity here since meets are currently on hold.

And then I did the same routine above 2 more times, once on the 15th and once on the 17th.  And I'll do it again on the 19th.  And then, hopefully, coach will let me add more weight.

And today:
2011-2-18

Wanted to do something where I actually used my arms to move stuff

BTNPP
bar x some
75x5
95x5
115x5
135x5
155x3
165x3,3

Strict press
165 1x2

Still got it. Good enough.

Who's this coach you've found?

He was standing on a corner in town with a sign that said "Will coach for food," so I bought him lunch and he tells me what to do now.

He's actually a friend of mine from another forum.  He's a 165-181 and has gone from a standing start to a 260lb+ clean and jerk in under two years.  Had some good coaching from Charles Staley and is trying to get in the business himself.  I think I'm a test run for him, but he knows what he's doing.

Cool!  Let's shoot for Friday.  Whereabouts you thinking?  Commerical place or the old garage?

Friday is good for me too. Wherever they permit bar drop from overhead is good for me! I'll send you a PM with my contact details.

Edit: I can't find the PM function. If you drop me a location, a time and the nearest rail station, I'll find my way there.

Depends on where you're coming from.  CalTrain drops off in south San Francisco, but if you go all the way to SF, transfer to Muni there and then to BART to get to Colma I can pick you up there.  Or I can get you you in San Francisco.  Or I can pick you up wherever you happen to be.

Sounds like we'll be using my garage.  I was thinking of trying Physique Manifique in South S.F. where Jim Schmitz trains folks, but he doesn't allow bar drops.  There are other possibilities, but it depends on where you will be.

2011-2-26

Took an extra day off.  Did my some good.

Snatch complex
3 rounds @bar
5 rounds @105

C&J complex
3 rounds @95
5 rounds @145

High-Bar Squat
5x3 @245

MUCH easier than last time, but I was just as tired.  Compressed the rest periods somewhat.  Right shoulder is behaving better.  I'm using it better, contracting the traps at the top of the jerk. Haven't been doing that on the right side so the humerus kind of flops around in the socket.  No wonder it hurts.

How's 2pm for you Wade? I've got the hang of the train system round here now (when sober) so I can get myself down to Colma.

Got a temporary number of 415-542-9104 if you want to give me a call.

Warren -

I'm really, really sorry about this, but I'm going to have to bow out.  I have a job interview tomorrow at right about that time.  I've been out of work too long not to try for this.  I'll try and give you a call tomorrow 0r maybe we can set something up for the evening after I pick up my wife.
