As of early 2013, we are still in the process of rebooting unto the new platform

If you want to keep track of the relaunch you can:

  1. Like us on Facebook
  2. Follow us on Twitter
  3. Send me (Kris) an e-mail and let me know that you'd like to join the new site when it is ready.

Once we are ready to relaunch, we will start spreading the word. Until then, expect silence to mean we are heads down coding. :) The forum is still open for active members, but don't expect a lot of activity here since meets are currently on hold.

I will not be able to lift in this meet-- and MAN does it pain me to admit that. But I would gladly offer up my services as a judge.

Hi Kris!  I'm in for sure.  I'll lift on the Saturday if possible, but if everyone else has a preference, I'm flexible.  I have a Strongman competition on the 7th, but I can do the meet before or afterward.

Hey Chris, welcome once again! Will there be a deadlift type event in the strongman competition? Doing two meets on the same weekend is pretty hardcore. Smiley

I'd have loved to be in, the deadlift is my favourite and the only one I'm half decent in, but unfortunately I'll be travelling to New York City on Sept 4-11 and won't be able to lift this time.  Have fun, y'all.

Count me in. This would be a great chance to find out if I have made any gains using the Sheiko training before my up coming local meet. I will lift on Saturday 6. Good luck to all entering.

Kris, If you need me to be a judge, Please let me know.   Ron Villani

You bet, thanks! It's an honor to get such an experienced lifter to judge. We now have two judges; if anyone feels like joining Christine and Ron please let me know. I'm as usual ready to step in as the third judge if need be.

Ron, I will send you further information on how this works when all the clips are in after the meet. Lifters will be updated tomorrow with the usual upload account info etc.

Have a great meet, everyone!

Kris, a couple of questions. How long do we have for this meet - an hour? And can we wear tank tops or do we stick to t-shirts?

Thanks.

Hey Kat,

Good questions. They are covered in the rules, I'll paste the relevant sections below.

How long do we have for this meet - an hour?

Correct, one hour.

The meet: Once the first meet attempt is taken, the lifter must record when the meet started. For full meets (squat, bench press and deadlift), the maximum length of a meet is 2.5 hours; for two lift meets 1.5 hours; and for single lift meets 1 hour not including warm-ups leading up to the first attempt on the first lift. Any attempts taken after the time has run out are to be disqualified. The lifter must accurately record the weight of each attempt.

Quote
And can we wear tank tops or do we stick to t-shirts?

As long as the tank top reaches your deltoids, it's fine.

Only a T-shirt made of cotton, polyester or a mixture of the two
is allowed. The sleeves may terminate anywhere between the deltoids and
just short of the elbow. The T-shirt must fit the lifter without being baggy
or tight. If the T-shirt is long enough to reach the buttocks, it should be
tucked into the shorts on the squat as to not obstruct the assessment of
depth.

Let me know if you have any other questions and have a great one!  Smiley

Yeah, I think we have the bases pretty well covered by now, but all questions and feedback is more than welcome. Next up are the weightlifting additions for the October meet, more on that later.

First update: three lifters out of six have now submitted their clips. Obviously, not everyone has lifted yet so this meet is still very much underway.

Bend that bar! Smiley
