VIRTUALMEET.NET MEMBER AGREEMENT
version 2007.06.16
Virtualmeet.net aims at being a meeting place where strength enthusiasts of all levels, gender and cultural backgrounds can compete and interact together in a friendly drug-free atmosphere. The purpose of this user agreement is to lay out the base rules of conduct for this to work in practice. The Virtualmeet.net staff reserves the right to moderate the community in accordance with these rules and common sense, and to take any action deemed appropriate to deal with actions determined to be in violation of this agreement. However, Virtualmeet.net cannot actively monitor the posted material, and as such, is not responsible for any content submitted by our members.
Signing up for Virtualmeet.net events will also require you to accept the Technical Rules which may include additions to the rules outlined in this agreement. Also note that the various sections of the forum may have their own guidelines for what kind of material may be posted.
You agree, through your use of this community, that you
1. will participate under your real identity, which includes using your real name (firstname and lastname, or its equivalent) in the community. Virtualmeet.net will not share any of your personal information with a third party, but please note that some of the personal information you provide may be publically visible in the community.
2. remain solely responsible for all your actions on this community and any damage that may ensue from them. This includes, but is not limited to, any material you post on the forums or on your Virtualmeet.net home page, as well as any injuries you may sustain while participating in Virtualmeet.net events. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the owners of Virtualmeet.net, its staff, and its subsidiaries. The owners of Virtualmeet.net also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any other related information collected on this service) in the event of a formal complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of Virtualmeet.net or any of its services.
3. will not post any material in violation of any International or United States Federal law. You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless you own the copyright or you have written consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, unsolicited advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also forbidden on this community.
4. will do your utmost to show good sportmanship and courtesy towards all Virtualmeet.net members both on-site and off-site. It is natural for people to be of different opinion, but posting any material which is false, defamatory, harassing, demeaning, threatening, rascist, vulgar, obscene, sexually oriented, hateful, or invasive of a member's personal privacy will not be tolerated. Anyone who feels that posted material is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator or moderator of this community immediately.
5. respect that everyone is entitled to their own political and religious views and agree not to engage in discussions on these matters in the community.
6. respect that there is more than one way to powerlift. Virtualmeet.net stages RAW meets open to anyone regardless of powerlifting federation or equipment preferences. Any gear or federation bashing is explicitly forbidden in the community.
7. will not compete in any Virtualmeet.net events unless drug-free as defined by the latest version of the Technical Rules. Virtualmeet.net champions drug-free lifting, but respects those who have chosen another path. Any discussion on prohibited substances and anabolic steroids is explicitly forbidden, including any bashing of lifters who have chosen to use these substances.
8. will never give your community password(s) out to another person except an administrator, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to never use another person's account for any reason. Choosing a complex and unique password to prevent account theft is highly recommended.
9. allow your IP address to be recorded with each post. This is needed in the event that you need to be banned from this community or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement. Also note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is only used to keep you logged in/out and to remember your site preferences (such as your preferred language). For statistical purposes, Virtualmeet.net also automatically records the information your browser sends such as your web request, IP address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser.
